Today for me

The surgery went well. But It has been kind of a rough day for me. It is very hard to change Evan's diaper because he is in two different diapers. He is wearing a size 4 and a size 5 right now. He is very wiggly and tries to grab at the gaze and has grabbed the catheter once.  I have kind of figured out a quick way to change him, so I am hoping it will go smoother tonight and tomorrow.

Update

Well I got home last night. I was worried that it was going to be over night since the surgery went later. I am glad we didn't have to stay the night. Right before we headed home he was given some main reliever. He was suppose to get some more at about 12 or 1. Well we all slept through that and about 5:30 this morning he woke up crying. So now he has been given some medicine and had his diapers changed, Which is kind of a two person job. And than Owen woke up. I think I am going to head back to bed for a little bit.

Surgery Day Entry 3 Update

Well they called with another update. It will not be a 1 stage surgery. He will have another surgery somewhere around January-February time. So 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours left.

Surgery Day Entry 2 Update

They called from the operating room with an update while I was writing the entry. The nurse said they started about 40 minutes ago and everything is going good. They were still in the process of dropping his testicles. They will call in an hour and half with another update.

Surgery Day Entry 1

Ok so we got to doernbecher's at about 9:15.  They were suppose to take him back at about 10:50. Which was not the case. I guess the doctor was in surgery with a patient with the same thing as Evan. But they were able to do the other boy's surgery in one, that surgery was 5 hours long. They usually say it could be two surgeries because they actually don't know until they get in the operating room.  I am crossing my finger's that it will be one! So we were sitting for about 3 1/2 hours. Evan was pretty frustrated because he isn't able to eat, and all he wanted to do was eat and go back to bed. He finally went to sleep after a lot of pacing the floor and rocking him, My arms were a little sore. So a little after 1:00 the doctor's (there are two doctor's doing the surgery) and the anesthesiologist came out introduced themselves. So about 1:30 they were ready to come and get him. I was able to walk all the way to were the doors are that no one can go past.  He ...

Note

Lots to talk about. We are trying to fix the laptop. So hopefully It will be ready by Friday, So I have something to do while I am waiting during surgery. So I will trying getting more updated later this week.

Evan' Surgery

Next Friday is Evan's Surgery. He will being have surgery on his penis and testicles. Today was his Pre-Operation appointment. So Evan's doctor, Dr Bayne. He talked about what he is going do first during the surgery. First he wanted to drop Evan's Testicle's down. He said for each one it will take about an hour and half for both. Expect for the right one. He said he couldn't really find it this time, but last time it was a little more easier.  And Evan's other doctor, hormone doctor, felt the right one in June. So Dr. Bayne wasn't to concerned but if he had to he would insert a small camera through Evan's belly button.   So that is going to be about maybe three hours for his testicles, unless it takes more time to drop them down. Than the next part of the surgery is to reconstruct his penis. Dr Bayne said that he hopes they could do all of this in one surgery but that maybe not the case. So it might end up being two surgeries. So after this one the s...

Not a great morning.......

Well I was out in the garage this morning working and I came in and Owen was naked, when I saw that he was naked I told him to put underwear on. I could smell something not right. I changed Evan and he it wasn't him. I looked at Owen and he had one hand in his mouth and another going towards his bottom. He brought his back up and he had poop all over his hand. I went closer and there was poop on my shoe and a bunch of clean clothes, he got the couch some and on the floor in a good amount of area. I was not a happy person.

Camp Rock

Image
Camp Rock was a camp for the kids in the stake ages ranging from 5-11. Alyssa and her cousin Siosi were able to be in this program together in the same group. They had lot's of fun. They learned acting, performance, leading, singing and I think there were a couple of other things.

Goals

I have been having some goals running through my head for days and I have been feeling a little overwhelmed. Some of them include exercising, keep up with laundry (along with putting it away right after it is dry), I would like to go through things and get rid of some stuff,  etc. I am hoping my week is VERY productive.

Surgery/Procedure

Image
Well I checked over this post a couple of times and I think I added everything I can possibly remember I was up at 4:30 in the morning and went to bed about 9:30 that night. So after a year they decided to close his PDA . They did a  Cardiac Catheterization on him. We were surprised that it didn't take that long because we were told 2-3 hours. Before they got started doing everything they had to get iv line in him. So they gave him a sedative, they gave half the dose. The first guy couldn't get it in and they only like to poke twice and he had done that. He was using a light held directly up against the skin. So he told them to call the panda team, they specialize in the pediatrics and have more special/ expensive light that works better with kids. So after he left the nurse ended up calling them and we were thinking that his sedative was wearing off so we told her and she gave the other half of sedative to him. By the time the panda team came he was not happy. It took Co...

Surgery Day

We are getting ready to leave for the hospital.

A Note

Ugh I haven't been on the bandwagon for exercising for a little while. While we were traveling we tried not to eat as much. I was going to bring my running shoes and run in the morning because of the heat. But I forgot to grab them. So hopefully this week I can go run at least once or twice. Thursday onto the weekend  are not going to be great because of Evan's heart procedure on Friday. Not sure if it will be an overnight stay or not. But I will update on friday afternoon.

Cory enjoying his steak dinner Cory blew out the candles. Owen was mad, he actually earlier put the mickey that was on his cake on this one. I think he thought it was his birthday, because I kept up the birthday sign from his birthday. We relight the candles so he could blow them out. We light Owen's birthday candles several times because he loved blowing them out.
