Conversation with Alyssa

I was working on the computer out in the garage and Alyssa woke up and came out. After a few minutes she went inside and she went and checked on Evan. After checking on Evan she came back out and said "Evan is still asleep, but I guess he was rolling over and doing circles in his bed. I guess we have a circus baby, because he does circles while he is in bed. I didn't know we have a circus baby."

Swingset

It took us quite a while to put this together because the kids were so excited. Now the whole thing is put together.Alyssa's favorite thing was the "tater totter". Next thing we need to get is a infant swing for Evan.  Construction phase Alyssa has already flung Owen off  the see saw three times.

Hectic

It has been kind of hectic here. Cory has been very stressed with school and he thinks he starting to get sick. Really not good if he is because he has a major project that has to be done with in a month. I have been looking for jobs for him and have find some positions that he is going to apply for. If anyone hears of any teaching jobs let us know, and links are always helpful.

Let's Go Fly A Kite.......

Image
Well Alyssa found the kite in the closet and she really wanted to go outside and fly the kite. Cory and the kids started in the backyard and ended up in the parking lot flying the kite. I was in the house with Evan and the neighbor came over he said I can't remember your name, I told him and he said "Well I just saw Cory and the kids in the parking lot and I grabbed my camera and took some pictures of them, because when my kids were growing up I couldn't remember to take pictures so I can't remember some of the stuff that I have done with them. So I thought I would take some pictures for you guys".

Well.........

So after I got off the phone with him and got a hold of Evan's pediatrician by email telling him, "Evan's surgery was canceled this morning because I think he has a yeast infection. Should I just do the topical cream on his bottom?" I got a call from the nurse and she asked if I could come in because the doctor wanted to look at his bottom. I went in and he looked and he said well it's not a yeast infection, ugh, his bottom has little bumps and Cory and I thought it was a yeast infection and we thought that it should be canceled. He said well they would have done the surgery, because it is just a little skin irritation. Great!!! Well I was not happy about it because I could have gone up there and it would have been just fine. We went to the Gilbert House today and I got stung on my hand. Did not feel good at all! This has definitely not been a good week! Hoping my weekend is better.
This is definitely not an april fools joke. The surgery was definitely canceled yesterday.  I just got a call from the urologist that saying if the rash wasn't on the scrotum that he could have done the surgery. I told him what happened in the past week and a half that Evan's bottom was almost fully cleared up and than it came back full blown, and I think it has turned into a yeast infection. So he said I made a good call by canceling the surgery and that they we will be calling to and reschedule very soon. He did say in the pre-operation appointment that like 20-25% of his patients end up canceling the appointment because they either get sick or have problems with a diaper rash, He is a pediatric urologist. He actually prescribes antibiotics for after surgery because of getting a chance of an yeast infection.

Evan & Surgery

Well surgery for Evan was suppose to be tomorrow. He has had three chances at surgery. In Jan he was doing to have it on Jan 21, which didn't happen because of him needing his shots of testosterone, than it got rescheduled to March 4th, and it didn't happen than because the doctor was on vacation that week. Than tomorrow was suppose to be the day. Last week was his pre-operation appointment, and he had a slight diaper rash when we went in, I was told to clear it up. He was like almost fully gone towards the weekend and than it broke out again. I have been freaking out about the whole thing trying to get his bottom clear. I have tried black tea baths, butt paste, yeast infection stuff (I also mixed with diaper rash stuff, trying to do a combo thing to see if that would work), and desitin. I also mixed up some stuff together in a paste and I have also stuck a black tea bag in his diaper. And lots of frequent diaper changes and letting his bottom dry all the way before I stuck ...

Catch Up!!

It has been a couple of weeks since I have blog lasted. Our cell phone was never found. So we ended up replacing it. Evan had his pre-operation appointment on Monday, Cory went up there with me, that is the first actual appointment he has been with me. Like the doctor told me before and said at this appointment, he said that Evan will probably end up having two surgeries, they could do it in one but he is not sure yet until they get in the operating room. He will probably not have to spend the night. I have been nervous for sometime now and it's getting closer, and the nervousness is becoming more. So during the appointment they weighed him, 15 lbs 15 oz. Checked his temperature and asked if he was sick. And than looked down south. So everything looks good for now. He his having his surgery up at Doernbecher's Children's Hospital. They said the surgery could take up to 2 -2 1/2 hours. When he has his second surgery it will be 6 months after this one because of healing t...
Well the phone is working, and probably my luck I will end up finding the phone, and I was looking for a week and no luck. Unless it is really gone.

Cell Phone part II

Well I searched this morning and no luck on finding the cell phone. Now I am having troubles transferring over the phone number to the new phone. It's so hard not having a phone and Cory I believe has the other phone with him today. I need this working because it is the number that everyone has. I won't have everyone's phone number now so, everyone send me a message via email or facebook so I can add it to the phone.

Cell Phone

Well our cell phone has been missing for a week now. I have been looking lots and haven't found it. I am going to do some more looking this morning and if I can't find it I am replacing it. So if anyone has been trying to get a hold of us you now know what is going on. It's very frustrating that it is missing.

Shar's Birthday Party

Image
We celebrated Shar's (my mother-in-law) birthday on Monday, her birthday was actually last Friday. She is now 54 years old. This was the first time I made a two layer round cake. As you can tell I was starting to run out of room when I was writing birthday. But it still looked good and also tasted pretty good also. I made a red velvet cake with butter cream frosting. I was going to make red frosting but couldn't find the red and ended up making pink instead.

A Trip To The Zoo

Image
Ok so I went back and forth from not having this a private blog to having it public. I have fully decided to make this a private blog. It's something I have been contemplating for sometime, and I felt it needed to be done.

hmmmmm.....

There is nothing much to talk about. I have been trying to keep busy (trying to earn money, cleaning the house etc.). I haven't really been outside because if it being cold and sometimes I am ok with going outside and playing, but is has been cold, windy, and raining. It did snow last week, and by the time the kids were up and ready at 9:30 the snow was basically all melted. So with the little bit of snow we actually had, which wasn't much, we threw a couple of snowballs. So no pictures! Maybe we can make a trip to the snow some time. I have been feeling crafty, I have been wanting to sew a bag, and make some ties and sew them to white onesies for Evan for church or just for everyday. Because he looks pretty cute in them. Cory's been busy with school. I also thought I would get in one last post before February was over with. I can't believe that two months are gone out of the year already. Time has flew. So we haven't been up to much.

What we have been up to........

Well after much consideration, we ended up getting a mattress yesterday. We have never really had a new mattress, because of money. So we bought one yesterday. I am so excited because it is a nice one. Our mattress now is not so great. We both have sore backs when we wake up, you can feel the springs.  I helped Cory with a project for his classroom. I painted Popsicle sticks. Since he only teaches two classes I colored coded them red and blue, 35 each color. And I wrote the kids name on the sticks for each class. I think it will help him learn there names. He wanted to also keep their attention. I hope they work, it was the first day today. I have kind of working with Owen on the potty training I haven't gotten big results yet. I just don't like to have two in diapers. So hopefully soon I can catch him before he does and I think once I get him to go into potty chair or toilet he will understand it a little better. Especially with the delayed talking that we have been having...
I have gotten back into the coupon clipping again.....Saturday I went to Fred Meyer because I needed a couple of things. And they had toothpaste on sale for $1.00, and I had 6 coupons of that brand and they were actually going to expire on Saturday so I ended up using them. I spent 1.50 on 6 things of toothpaste. It was exciting to get toothpaste for $.25 each. Now we have toothpaste for a LONG time now!!

Cory and Teaching

So the past few weeks have been pretty hectic at our house. Monday and Tuesday's are two of the busiest days in the week. Cory has been student teaching for a couple of weeks now. He wakes up between 5:00-5:30 and leaves about 7:00. Than doesn't get home until about 9-9:30 at night. Today is the start of week 3, it seems like it has been longer than that. Well to start off week 3 one of his teachers was going in the classroom to observe and see how he is doing. I can't wait to hear what his teacher says about his progress. Actually there was a problem last week there was a girl in the class that cheated on a test and he was very upset with him self because he thought it was his fault he didn't catch it, his mentor teacher said it wasn't his fault and shouldn't be blaming himself. The girl got in trouble and Cory is going to be tutoring her now, and her mom is staying on top of her grades.
