The Strasser's

I came across a blog today will just surfing the internet and looking at some interesting blogs. I know I should be doing other things, this sounded like something that I really need to be doing. So I thought I should share it. I am not sure if I should start today but I probably will start at least one of my goals. The one goal that I will start  is drinking lot's of water and holding off on the soda and juice, and making sure the kids get lots of water. I will post my other goals that I will start working on each week later today. Back In The Habit

Wednesday we heard some exciting news. The doctor told us that Evan would be able to come home on Friday. Well today is Friday and he was not able to come home. He did fail his car seat test and he hasn't been taking all of his feedings like he should so the doctor told us let's see how the weekend goes and than maybe Tuesday is what they were saying. He is up to 4lbs 13oz. He is getting so big and CUTE!

Alyssa got her shots and was able to go to the hospital and finally meet her new brother. In Alyssa's words  "He has tiny hands, and tiny feet".

Well to start off July has been pretty busy. I turned 26 on my birthday. Aleta and Kimber, got me a pedicure for my birthday. Something I had told Cory I wanted while I was in the hospital. Thanks you two! I got a couple of skirts and some shoes, with heels, not the normal thing that I wear. Two movie tickets and a subway gift card from Shar & Mike. A necklace and Earrings from Cory. Thanks everyone for the gifts! Owen turned 2 this month. I can't believe that he is two already.  His birthday was a cars  themed birthday. Birthday Boy I made  dalmatian cupcakes , than I made cream cheese frosting and dyed it green and topped it off with blue sprinkles, and the cupcake topper's that I made. Well we have lots going on this week. Owen will be 2 on Wednesday. I think I will be posting Thursday. There will be more than one entry. Things that have been going on are I have some pictures that I haven't posted of evan yet, Alyssa met him on friday (I do have pictures have that visit), and than we will have Owen's birthday party. I did have a birthday on the 8th which I didn't even blog about, and we didn't get pictures. But there will be a whole lot of blogging later this week.

This is my 536 post, Yes I have posted alot on the blog. Well I do have other stuff to post about but it's late and I am watching a movie. I will post tomorrow about the stuff is going on.

When I was not quite a freshman but not done with 8th grade or maybe it was earlier I can't remember but I was introduced to Sprint Car's. I have always wanted to at least sit in one or drive one just for a little bit, but been afraid because it can be sometimes dangerous. Well I hadn't been to a race in a long time, and I talked Cory into taking me. I was really glad we brought earplugs, because I had forgotten how loud it gets.  So Thank You Kimber for taking the kids for a night, really appreciate it!  Here is some picture's and video I was able to get. 

Well we have been sick, nothing new to really update, I have updated the hospital blog.

Well hope everyone had a good 4th. Yesterday morning Cory and I went up to the hospital to visit little Evan.  My mom and Rick watched Alyssa and Owen while we went to the hospital. I tried nursing which he kind of did a little and I tried bottle feeding him also. We came home and had steak, mashed potatoes and corn for dinner, for desert we had cookies and homemade strawberry ice cream. Alyssa kept asking if we could light the fireworks off but we had to keep telling her that we did that when it's dark. She wasn't a big fan of the one's that make noise. We had a good day.

Well Alyssa is finally enjoying that Owen is fun to play with. She is getting along better with him. She is understanding somewhat of what's going on with evan. We are working on getting her current shots, which I thought she had, so she can go up to the Nicu and see evan.  She is learning how to read, and write the alphabet.  She sometime's has an attitude, but she is a loving little girl and a good helper!

His shirt says: "I am a handful" Well I can't believe Owen will be 2 this month. He is starting to talk more, he says: mom, dad, pop rock, grandma (he says a little different that I am not sure how to type), dog, Alyssa, grandpa, milk, and more milk. He love's nursery, after sacrament meeting he know's the way  to his class. He is a very lovable little boy. 

We had an exciting thing happen. To read more about it I posted it on the hospital blog. But the main thing is that Evan tried nursing yesterday, and he did very well. I thought it was going to be a while, but he was showing interest and the nurse said he got a gold star. Here is some pictures that I took. He is up to 3lbs 5 oz.  All wore out after nursing some.

Can you tell he likes to have his hands by his tubes for his c-pap machine Well I have been updating the hospital blog about him more on that one. But just so everyone knows he is doing pretty good. He weighs 2 lbs 14 oz. Evan is up to I believe 6 or 7 cc's for his feedings. Probably towards the end of next week he will be starting bottle feedings. He loves kangaroo time, he always gets upset when he goes back into bed. Today's kangaroo time he was opening his eye's and looking around some. He is still on the caffeine also.

Well looking back on my Live List   I have some things that I can accomplish that I have wanted to do, some sooner than I had actually planned on doing. Once I am feeling up to it then I will be working on them. It's only been a week so it's going to be sometime. So we tried going up to the hospital tonight but we didn't get very much time because there was an accident on the freeway, and we forgot about the hours at the NICU. Going to start reading Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons , was going to start it but everything just happened.

Evan Brent Strasser Born: June 7th 12:06 Weight: 2 lbs 6 oz After the C-section On Monday we were having our usual daily ultrasound and Evan wasn't cooperating to how the doctor wanted him to. My blood pressure was raising some. After sometime the doctor decided well it was going to be the day. I was a little nervous because I have never had surgery before. I was really nervous when the doctor said ok it's time. Getting in the operating room, I was really overwhelmed and scared, I wished Cory could be in there while they were prepping me, but he had to wait. He was pretty scared. While the prepping was going they were monitoring my blood pressure and monitoring Evan also. The epidural took them three pokes, I think it was because of the water retention that I had through out body.  During the cesarean I almost fell asleep because...

Nothing really new to update with. But just to let everyone I am in the hospital, I have been here for a week, and a couple of days.  I have preeclampsia. Here are some pictures from the first Saturday I was in the hospital.  My face looks swollen some in this picture I was also on magnesium sulfate at the time.
